Dakotah’s public service, leadership, and real estate experience prepares him to hit the ground running on Day 1 – he’s ready to lead a large team, ensure that assessments are done right, and that the office is working for you, the taxpayer. Dakotah will bring people together to ensure the assessment process is fair and transparent, while keeping up with evolving technology and best practices.

Dakotah has a strong track record in both real estate and public service. He brings 10 years of residential and commercial real estate brokerage experience to the table. As a commercial real estate broker, Dakotah helps small businesses and property owners every day to navigate the shifting market. He also worked in residential real estate for 7 years, starting as a sales agent and working up to becoming a regional manager at his company, overseeing sales across Nebraska, Iowa, and South Dakota. Dakotah has earned the CCIM designation and served on the Board of Directors for both the Omaha Area Board of Realtors and the Great Plains Regional MLS.
Dakotah values collaboration in getting the job done. Dakotah will prioritize transparency of office decisions and will work with community members, real estate professionals, and other county and city agencies to build community trust among Douglas County residents by being proactive in community outreach, and staying receptive to stakeholder concerns.
Dakotah knows that Douglas County families and seniors are struggling with rising valuations, which often means higher property tax bills. Dakotah will ensure that assessments are being made fairly and accurately. Dakotah will bring a fresh perspective to the office to find and correct imbalances, and improve the assessment process so that it is accessible to all residents.

He will keep the office focused on quickly resolving property owner questions and concerns, cutting down recording time on important documents, and streamlining processes across the office to increase efficiency.
